History
FIRMLY ROOTED.
Jim received a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University, which awarded him the prestigious Gerald M. McCue Medal.Licensed as a registered architect in the state of Virginia since 1991 and in the state of Texas since 1995, Jim has worked and studied with industry icons Barton Myers, Mack Scogin, and Michael Sorkin. This experience, along with his expertise in the realm of design, prompted offers from numerous firms across the nation. But Jim’s commitment was to the community that his father and grandfather helped build.
In 1995, with nothing more than contracts for a single-family residence and renovations to a church, Jim boldly began his architectural practice in historic downtown McKinney - a firm rooted in the design of buildings and committed to the exploration of ideas.
